welcome to nineteen09, a note to our customers:
Our intention has always been to provide an inviting space for you to enjoy an afternoon or evening with a good glass of wine (bottle of beer or mocktail) in the company of your friends and family. We aim to provide high-quality wine, domestic and craft beer, cocktails, spiked seltzers, non-alcoholic options, a delicious menu of local charcuterie, unique gifts and a full schedule of interesting workshops and events.
It’s a hard time to run a small business and it’s only getting harder. We’ve always pushed forward with the motivation to get “butts in barstools” and unfortunately we just haven’t had enough of those butts in those barstools. Nineteen09 started 5 years ago as a place to gather, celebrate the moments in our lives worth celebrating, offer a unique bar experience in Cross Plains, and provide space for small business collaboration. We are proud to say we’ve done all those things. We’ve also faced a lot of challenges, both in the past 5 years and within our 16 months of ownership.
We are sad, I think that goes without saying. But we are also excited for the next 3 months. We have the opportunity to pack so much good, fun, and community into our final days and we plan to do exactly that. What does that mean? It means events, private rentals, trivia, music, and hopefully a lot of butts in barstools.
We have a wonderful staff here at Nineteen09, we always have. We can’t thank them enough for the work they continue to put in everyday and for the love and support they’ve poured out since we shared this news.
You have questions. We get that.
1. Yes, we are still booking private events through the very end!
2. Will everything look the same the next 3 months? Yup! With the exception of food. We’ve got snacks for you, but charcuterie is no more. As has always been, you are more than welcome to bring in your own food at any time!
3. We know our near and dear are thinking “how can I support them” and for that we are thankful. The answer is as it has always been - butts in barstools. We hope to see and serve you often over these last few months.
From general store to wine bar and everything in between, it’s time for a new adventure at 1909 Main Street.
Cheers, Nineteen09

We believe there is nothing greater in this world than sharing food and drink among friends. So, let’s make that real simple.
We have 16 bottles of self-serve wine on tap and a number of domestic and craft bottled beers, seasonal ciders, cocktails, spiked seltzers, and more!
Arguably, we have one of the largest mocktail and non-alcoholic menus in the Madison area. We consider ourselves a Madison Mocktail bar and encourage your suggestions!
And get this: we encourage you to bring your own food. While we do have a full menu of delicious, local charcuterie, we are happy to provide you with plates, silverware and napkins. If you feel like ordering from our menu, cool. If you’d rather pack your own picnic, awesome. If pizza is your jam, we have your hook up.
The world is your oyster…however, you’ll have to bring those yourself.

Sometimes you just need an excuse to get out of the house.
We partner with some of the most talented creatives in the area to bring you workshops and classes in a variety of different subjects. Our semi-private space allows you and your friends to work on a project together, socialize and create. Workshops are sold through our website or through specific vendors and require payment in full so that instructors can plan.
